INTERVIEW WITH CHAITANYA GOGULAPATI - SHORT FILM DIRECTOR

Bloodline title reminds us of the yesteryear movie starring Audrey Hepburn and James Mason. English titles for Telugu short films are becoming a trend now. One of our Telugu short film director Chaitanya Gogulapati got inspired by this name and named it to his debut short film. " Bloodline" story was Influenced by the quotes of  Albert Camus " There are crimes of Passion and crimes of Logic. The boundary between them is clearly defined." Chaitanya directed his debut short film in telugu and contacted SFIT {www.shortfilmsintelugu.in} for his short film promotion and our Team caught up with him for a short interview about his short film.

ABOUT CHAITANYA GOGULAPATI:
Chaitanya hails from Jaggampeta , East Godavari district, currently living in Vizag. He's doing PhD from Andhra university in Pharmaceutical Analysis department.

Question 1:  How did the Idea of this short Film Bloodline came out?
CHAITANYA: This idea is experimental, the proportion of love stories in short film genre is so high that people almost forgot there are many other genres. Although it’s our debut project, we opted for breaking the routine keeping in mind that there will be viewers waiting for this kind of films even.

Question 2: Tell about you and your interest in Films?
CHAITANYA: I believe in experimenting. Along with experimental value and entertainment, films that include logical plots are interesting to me.

Question 3:  How did you find your Cast & Crew?
CHAITANYA: Basically my home place is a village and my primary intention is to give a right platform to talented people from villages. The whole crew is from surrounding parts of my village.

Question 4:  Any challenges faced during Post production?
CHAITANYA: Yes, we faced. But every time we came up with a solution. Dubbing became impossible during the election time and all the studios were busy. We are running out of time and so we used Samsung galaxy s4 phone to record all the voices in the film. And basically we don’t have an editor in team, soon after completing the shooting we downloaded adobe premiere pro and learned editing through YouTube. We managed to edit the whole film through trial and error learning process.

Question 5:  What's your next Short Film Story would be?
CHAITANYA: We are trying to make a fusion story. It would be mostly a blend of satire and comedy.

CHAITANYA: Clarity is power. The output wholly depends on level of clarity with which the director comes to the set

Question 7: Tell about your favourite scene and your favourite actor in Bloodline
CHAITANYA: The climax is the key scene in the movie.  Everyone performed their task so well but what I liked is the ease with which the child artist acted In the school episode of the film. That is so much for his age.
